It hasn’t even been “One Week” but the numbers are in and the City of Carrollton’s 7th Annual Festival at the Switchyard is saying “Pinch Me” after shattering attendance records with rides and games, quality vendors, and all day concerts including spunky headliner Barenaked Ladies.

Approximately 30,000 people attended the Festival throughout the event day to eat their corny dogs, watch the kids play, and enjoy performances from artists such as Kelsey Lewis, the Statesboro Revue, and Perfect Nation (Prince Tribute). Some lucky folks even danced in a conga line led by Shinyribs frontman Kevin Russell who got down from the stage and showed Carrollton how to have a good time.

Barenaked Ladies didn’t disappoint either with performances of long-time favorites “One Week,” “Pinch Me,” “If I Had $1000000,” and of course, the theme song from CBS’s The Big Bang Theory.

A new feature to the Festival at the Switchyard this year was the opportunity to win a custom-wrapped guitar signed by the opening and headlining bands. Winner and BNL fanatic Holly Monroe won the guitar through the City’s social media contest and walked away from the concert with a brand new six-string.

Festival goers have another chance to win a signed, custom-wrapped souvenir guitar by filling out the Festival at the Switchyard Attendee Survey by Monday, November 14. Follow the Festival on Facebook to enter!“The City of Carrollton and Festival staff members would like to thank the community for coming out and showing support,” Carrollton Marketing Director Kelli Lewis said. “Our Festival offers something for everyone from music lovers to food enthusiasts, and we hope the event gave everyone a chance to visit Carrollton’s charming Historic Downtown Square with all the of the wonderful shops and restaurants that are always available.”
