Local H Joins 2017 Festival at the Switchyard Lineup
Rock band Local H will join headliners Everclear and The Toadies for Carrollton’s 8th Annual Festival at the Switchyard Saturday, November 4.
Best known for being an unorthodox two-man setup, the band from Zion, Ill. formed in 1990 and has since produced eight full-length studio albums.
The group gained recognition from its 1996 sophomore effort As Good as Dead, which features the famed hit “Bound for the Floor,” which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Modern Rock Chart and No. 10 on the Mainstream Rock chart. The album also has top hits “Eddie Vedder” and “Fritz's Corner.”
Local H often blurs the line between rock genres, playing a mix of hard rock, punk, and indie. The group’s diversity was demonstrated further in 2005 with the release of a beefed-up cover of Britany Spears’ “Toxic,” and then again in 2014 with a hard rock version of Lorde’s “Team.”
A full Festival entertainment schedule as well as the entire musical line-up will be announced in the coming weeks.
Festival vendor applications are now being accepted with early bird discounts offered on applications received prior to August 1. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the event which hosted over 30,000 patrons in 2016.
Festival sponsors to date include iHeartRadio, Atmos Energy, Bath Planet and Window Expo, and Sam Pack’s Five-Star Ford Carrollton.
