Roadmap to College Programs at the Library

Roadmap to CollegeThe Carrollton Public Library partnered with the G-Force Mentor Program of the University of North Texas and the G-Force Mentor Program of Texas Woman's University to present a series of programs for teens heading to college and their parents.

The programs are FREE and no registration is required. The hands-on Financial Aid programs are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Preparing for College
Are you ready for college? Mentors from the University of North Texas will be here to lay out a map to college prep success and answer all your questions about FAFSA, Financial Aid, and applications.

Financial Aid
Get some hands-on help with FAFSA and scholarship applications! G-Force Mentors will be on hand to help walk parents and students through financial aid applications and scholarships. This is one-on-one help in our Electronic Classroom, so the advice given will be practical and extremely useful!

This is program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents, please bring your 2015 tax returns as many financial aid answers must come specifically from that document.

The College Experience
What should you expect when you arrive to college? What about dorms, classes, scheduling, books? What sort of budget should you have? Mentors from the University of North Texas are here to answer those questions! Students from UNT will be here with first-hand experiences of what (and what not) to do when preparing for your inaugural year of college.
