Carrollton Presents 2017 Environmental Distinction Awards

|PPG Architectural Coatings, Inc. received Carrollton’s 2016-2017 Environmental Distinction Award.|
The City of Carrollton Environmental Services Department recognizes industries that consistently comply with industrial pretreatment and stormwater regulations for a full year. The Department grants the Environmental Distinction Award to industries that have enhanced pollution prevention operations and shown environmental leadership.
At the December 5 City Council meeting, Mayor Kevin Falconer and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem John Sutter presented the Consistent Compliance Award to 13 companies namely: BeautiControl, BuzzBallz, ElectroPlate Circuitry Capital, Gerdau Ameristeel, Image Industries, International Paper-Beltline Road, MI Windows and Doors, LLC, PPG Architectural Coatings, Inc., Quality Powder Coating, LLC, Ruskin Rooftop Systems, QuikTrip #930, Texas Finishing Company, and Treehouse Foods. From these 13, PPG Architectural Coatings, Inc. was awarded the Environmental Distinction Award.
PPG Architectural Coatings, Inc. has manufactured water-based paints in Carrollton since 1962. Last year, PPG was able to rework 530,000 gallons of paint and increased recycling by 20 percent, preventing a substantial amount of special waste from being disposed in landfills. Additionally, PPG’s continued community support activities for the North Texas area include donations to the North Texas Food Bank, paint to Hurricane Harvey victims, blood drives through Carter BloodCare, and Toys for Tots.
