Meet Metrocrest! at Josey Ranch Lake Library on March 19

Post Date:02/20/2018 5:51 PM

Meet Metrocrest! Come out to Josey Ranch Lake Library (1700 Keller Springs Road) on Monday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to noon to Meet Metrocrest! and learn about the vital services available to community members through the organization.

Staff members and volunteers will be available to answer questions and to schedule appointments for assistance. Attendees will also get the chance to learn about Metrocrest Services’ volunteering opportunities.

“Partnering with the Carrollton Public Library to present Meet Metrocrest! will allow citizens to learn more about the many services available to them that they may not know about,” said Tanisha Williams, Metrocrest Services Workforce Development Specialist.

The mission of Metrocrest Services is to provide programs for individuals, families, and seniors that lead to self-sufficiency and foster independence. The organization serves people living in Carrollton, Addison, Coppell, Farmers Branch, parts of Dallas, and Denton County. Services provided include financial assistance and budget coaching, employment guidance, home repairs and safety aids for seniors, transportation for seniors and adults with disabilities, and easement of seasonal expenses for low-income families. Metrocrest Services also fights food insecurity in the community through their self-select food pantry, home delivered meals, holiday food distributions, and the Sack Summer Hunger program for children. Donations to and proceeds from the Metrocrest Resale Store help to support these programs.

Building a Stronger Community Together is a goal the organization and the Carrollton Public Library agree will be achieved through continued collaboration on events such as Meet Metrocrest!

“The Library is the perfect setting for this sort of an event because we too strive to offer services that enrich our community,” said Rachel Young, Josey Ranch Lake Library Branch Manager. “We’re excited to open our doors to this wonderful community resource.”
