July Parks & Recreation Month  

Our July focus on Parks & Recreation is now complete. We hope you enjoyed the activities and events and were able to visit some of our facilities. Photos and details will be posted here. Be sure to complete your scorecard and turn it in at either of the recreation centers or at the administrative office. Winners will be contacted and announced soon. Good luck!

Saturday, August 30
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
at the Crosby Community Center
1610 E. Crosby Road

Shoppers and sellers are invited to participate in this indoor community garage sale. Residents and non-residents can rent a 10' X 10' space for $20 to sell items. One table and two chairs are provided for each booth. Sellers can rent one space per household.

All items must be in good taste and suitable for family viewing. The City reserves the right to screen and reject items for sale. Items being sold can't promote personal businesses to patrons. No solicitation is allowed. Spaces are limited. Reservations must be made in person by August 24 while space is available.

at the Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex
1334 Rosemeade Parkway
$3 per dog, humans free

Bring your dog out to this popular event for friendly competitions and swimming. Compete in dog races, dress-up competitions, dog/owner look-alike contests and much more! Be sure to bring proof of shots and registration. Designated potty area and clean up supplies on site. For more information call 972-466-9833.

at the Elm Fork Nature Preserve
inside McInnish Sports Complex off
Sandy Lake Road, one mile west of I-35E

The Elm Fork Nature Preserve hosts the Elm Fork Nature Fest with environmental exhibits, a rock climbing wall, animal shows, guided hikes, kayaking, food and a variety of exciting and educational activities for all ages. This family event is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the Elm Fork Nature Preserve. For additional information or inclement weather status, call 972-466-9813. No pets are allowed at this event due to the sensitivity of the site. Animal shows are subject to cancellation if temperatures are too extreme for their safety. Friday, December 5
6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
at the A. W. Perry Homestead Museum
1509 N. Perry Road

Victorian Carolers stroll the grounds spreading holiday cheer. Guides provide informal tours of the historic home decorated for the season. Children can make an old-fashioned Christmas tree ornament in the craft tent. Homemade style cookies and hot apple cider will be served. Bring your whole family to this popular celebration.

Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2
noon to 5:00 p.m.
at Rosemeade Recreation Center
1330 E. Rosemeade Parkway

Bring the whole family out to view over 300 feet of HO scale model train layouts featured at the Spring Creek Model of steam, diesel, freight and passenger model train display.
