General Information
The Carrollton Senior Center is
located at 1720 Keller Springs
Road, just west of Josey Lane. This 17,300
square-foot facility consists of a large ballroom with a
wood dance floor, meeting, exercise and fitness rooms,
boardwalk piers on the lake, a hiking/biking trail, picture
windows overlooking the lake and wetlands, full-service
kitchen, and administrative offices.
The Center
offers a variety of weekly leisure activities and monthly
programs for senior adults ages 50+, including senior
athletic opportunities, educational classes and seminars,
and monthly luncheons. Most activities and programs are free
or have a minimal charge.
Membership Fee
One time $5.00 membership fees apply to residents and
non-residents. Replacement card fee $5.00.
Weekly Activities
Dominoes, Ukulele, Hand & Foot Canasta, Party Bridge, Ping Pong, Pinochle, Crafts, Bunka Embroidery,
Ceramics, Dances, Hand-working
Circle, Watercolor classes, Billiards.
Monthly Activities
Monthly luncheons are usually
held on the third Thursday every month at 11:00 a.m.,
$4 per person.
Join
"TNT"(Travelin' N Texas) to discover the exciting places Carrollton and
the State of Texas have to offer. Outings always
include much laughter, a stop for lunch and occasionally an
overnight stay.
Travel
with the "Lunch Bunch" for outings to a new
restaurant the second Friday each month
for only $3 plus your meal.
The Senior Advisory Council sponsors a
Hot Dog Day the second Wednesday
of each month. $1.50 buys a hot dog with all the fixins', chips, drink
and dessert.
Thursday Night Dances
7 to 9:30 p.m. $5 per
person.
Free dance class 6 to 6:50 p.m.
Live band each week!
Hosts are
available as
dance partners.

The Senior Advisory
Council meets the first Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m.
The purpose of this Council is: |

To act in an
advisory capacity to the city of Carrollton Parks and
Recreation department and the leisure services staff |
| ► |
To work
toward improvement of the senior facilities and services
such as the senior center, transportation, senior
contact and assistance and other items of senior
interest |
| ► |
To encourage
cooperation and interaction with other senior
organizations |
| ► |
To act as a
forum for the discussion of issues raised by seniors |
| ► |
To encourage
all seniors to take an active interest and to
participate in the programs and activities of the center |
| ► |
To make the
center a place of learning, activity, friendship and
entertainment |
| ► |
To publicize
the activities of the center and aggressively recruit
and welcome all eligible citizens of the community to
the center |
The Senior Advisory Council sponsors the monthly luncheons,
the
Veterans' Day Luncheon in November and the Holiday Open House
in December.
