Hazardous waste is not collected curbside. Carrollton citizens may take household hazardous waste to the Home Chemical Collection Center in Dallas. This is a free service for residents of Carrollton and other participating cities. Residents must provide a Texas drivers license and a utility bill as proof of residency.

Hazardous waste includes, but is not limited to, the following items:

• Chemical products for home use

• Paint and home repair products

• Lawn and garden chemicals

• Aerosol sprays

• Pool chemicals

• Craft and hobby supplies

• Cleaners and polishes

• Batteries of all kinds

• Automotive fluids and oil filters

• Fluorescent light tubes

• Computers

• Cell phones    

Waste not accepted at the Home Chemical Collection Center includes business or commercial waste, containers larger than 5 gallons, explosives or ammunition, shock sensitive materials, smoke detectors or other radioactive materials, medical waste, common trash or recyclables, construction debris, electronics or appliances other than computers and cell phones.
