West Nile Virus Updates 2017 LATEST UPDATE: October 5, 2017.

The West Nile Virus hotline (972-466-3202) has been updated with the following script:

“You have reached the City of Carrollton West Nile Virus Hotline. Today is Thursday, October 5, We currently monitor 14 mosquito management areas, collecting samples from 1A-7A one week and then 1B-7B the following week. You may view our map of these sites on our website at www.cityofcarrollton.com/westnile. Last week samples were collected from areas 1B-7B, with each of these samples testing negative for West Nile virus. Despite having multiple weeks without a positive result, we continue to encourage our residents to follow the 4 Ds by Dressing in long sleeves and pants, Defend yourself by wearing an approved repellant, limit activity at Dusk and Dawn and Drain any standing water you may have on your property. Since we have not had a sample test positive in the last month we will be discontinuing our weekly testing until next April. Despite this change in process, we are still available to assist with mosquito related concerns.
