Halliburton Energy Services receives Carrollton's 2014-2015 Environmental Distinction Award

Carrollton City Council presented the Environmental Distinction Award to Halliburton Energy Services for their continued commitment to environmental sustainability and leadership on December 15.

Halliburton Energy Services manufactures and tests equipment and tools for the production and operation of oil and gas wells. The company has a strong environmental policy and is continually looking for areas to improve. A wastewater treatment system is being installed to treat used coolant and oily wastewater, which will reduce the amount of oily wastewater sent off site by 90 percent.

The company is working toward the ISO 14004 certification and has an active environmental committee that educates employees about environmental issues and encourages them to report violations and unsafe behavior. In addition, the company’s cafeteria purchases local and sustainably grown and harvested foods. It also takes active measures to reduce food waste. Halliburton’s cafeteria provides snacks for the local food bank and homeless shelter.
