Water Conservation and Drinking Water Week May 7-13
National Drinking Water Week, May 7-13, 2017, celebrates water utility divisions. These divisions deliver 34 billion gallons of water to people across North America each day. Carrollton Public Works Department has delivered safe and reliable drinking water for over 80 years, providing public health protection, fire protection, support for the economy and quality of life. Dallas Water Utilities and the City of Carrollton are a “Superior” rated water system by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
Celebrate Drinking Water Week with your children by completing these activity sheets just for kids!
Additional important information can be found in the annual Water Quality Report.
National Drinking Water Week Poster Contest Winners Announced!
The City of Carrollton is excited to announce the winners of the 2017 Drinking Water Week Poster Contest for 3rd-5th grade Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD students. We received many amazing entries from some very talented kids.
The first prize winner is Shivani Sarangam, a 3rd grader from McCoy Elementary. Shivani’s adorably concerned water drop earned her a $100 gift card to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas. Her art teacher, Cristine Wheatley, also received a $100 gift certificate to Target.
Second prize winner is Daniela Estrada, who attends the 4th grade at Blanton Elementary. Daniela received a $50 gift certificate to the Perot Museum and her teacher, Quynh Tran, won a $50 gift certificate to Target. We would like to thank all of our participants for their inspiring art and enthusiasm for water conservation!
