ACCESSORY BUILDINGS/STORAGE SHEDS
General Information
Accessory buildings include storage sheds, detached garages, gazebos, etc., or any other structure that is subordinate to the main structure on a property.
Accessory buildings that exceed 120 square feet in area require a permit. Additional restrictions are imposed on structures larger than 240 square feet in area, including the requirement for a Special Use Permit (SUP) for structures taller than 15 feet or greater than 600 square feet in area. An inspection will be required upon completion of work.
Fees and Applications
A permit fee is required, and an application must be completed and submitted to the Building Inspection department at 1945 E. Jackson Rd. If electricity or plumbing will be installed in the accessory structure, please use the Residential Dwelling Application , so that subcontractors may be listed.
