AMATEUR RADIO ANTENNA SUPPORT STRUCTURES
General information
A permit is required for
the installation of a support structure for an amateur radio antenna.
Criteria for installation of such support structures is located in Section
D of
Article
XXVIII of the city’s Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. If a
contractor is used, that contractor must be registered in the city of
Carrollton.
Plans submittal requirements
- A copy of a site plan or Property Survey
of your property with dimensions indicating the location of the
antenna support structure on the property.
- A plan with dimensions indicating how the structure will
be constructed and anchored. This plan should include materials used and
wind load calculations.
- Application shall be accompanied by plans and specifications
demonstrating compliance with the provisions of Article XXVIII of the
city’s Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. Such plans and specifications
shall clearly delineate and identify the dimensions, size, type and
location of the support structure and, if applicable, guy wires; the
location, depth and type of guy anchors, if applicable; the type, size,
number and weight of the maximum antennas or apparatus to be attached to,
or supported by, the support structure; or any other information deemed
necessary by the Building Official to ensure compliance with the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, and provide for the health, safety and
welfare of the surrounding property or its residents.
Inspections
An inspection will be required upon completion of work.

A permit fee
is required, and an
application
must be completed and submitted to the Building Inspection department
