Project Permits
Two (2)
complete sets of civil engineering and architectural plans are required for
submittal along with the application form.
For new building projects,
initial submittal may be either blue line prints or plotted drawings.*
Each set of plans, depending on size or nature of the project, shall include
all of the following items. Interior finish-out or remodels need only provide
those items marked with an arrow (→).

setbacks, parking spaces and calculations, driveways, fire lanes, vehicle
stacking spaces, sidewalks, landscaping, etc. |

Final plat (show finished floor
elevations where lots are adjacent to flood plains; show all proposed
easements). |

Grading plans (include
benchmark). |

Paving plans (include paving
details and soils information). |
|
16. |
Water
and sanitary sewer plans
(including profiles for all sanitary sewer mains and water lines 12" in size or
larger). |

17. |
Drainage plans (include storm
sewer design). All designs must include detention requirements, drainage
divides, drainage calculations: (A) Area, (B) Time of concentration, (C)
Intensity, (D) Run-off coefficients. |

18. |
Screening wall plans, if
required. |

19. |
Evidence of asbestos survey or letter from
design architect or engineer for remodel projects. |

Key → "As-Built" 24" x 36" blue lines
and mylars will be required at final acceptance by the Engineering Department
for items 14, 15, 16 and 17.
Note After all tracking topics
have been approved, a total of three architectural and ten civil engineering
sets shall be submitted for final processing. In addition, all civil
engineering plans shall be 24" x 36".
All construction permits listed
must have Carrollton registered subcontractors stated on the application prior
to issuance.
Residential Project Permits
Single
Family Dwellings The following plans are required for submittal along
with the completed application form: |

Note If a minimum finished floor
elevation has been designated on the plat, a letter from a registered surveyor
must be submitted prior to the foundation inspection indicating that a survey
has been performed and the minimum finished floor is in compliance.
Residential Additions The following are required for submittal along

Pools and Spas Two (2) plot plans showing the
specific location of the pool or spa. The plot plans must show the approval
stamp of the servicing electrical utility company.
Specific Permits
Signs The following are required for submittal along with the
completed application form: |

Signs shall be designed and constructed to
with-stand a wind pressure of not less than 30 pounds per square foot of
area. |

Two (2) copies of the plot plan showing the
specific location of a free-standing sign. |

Fences, Satellite Dishes, Retaining
Walls Applicant should submit two (2) plot plans of the property
indicating location of the proposed fence, retaining wall or satellite dish.
Permits are required with engineered design for retaining walls above four (4)
feet in height. |
