Belt Line Road Corridor
|
On Tuesday, July 15th,
2004, the Carrollton City Council passed an ordinance creating Planned
Development 169 and rezoned land along Belt Line Road, between Myers Street and
Josey Lane. This rezoning was in accordance with the
Carrollton Renaissance Initiative study, completed

Carrollton Heights Historic
District
|
On
Tuesday, May 6, 2003, City Council approved the Carrollton Heights Historic
Overlay District zoning ordinance, which provides for certain
development regulations in the District different from other
residential districts.

DART LRT Line
|
DART
plans to inaugurate light rail transit (LRT) service to Carrollton by 2011. The
17.5-mile line will extend from the West End in downtown Dallas northwest along
the old Union Pacific railroad line. Three stations are planned in Carrollton -
just north of Old Downtown, at Trinity Mills Road (President George Bush
Turnpike) and at Frankford Road.

North Central Texas Council
of Governments (NCTCOG) provides an annual population estimate for area
cities. The January 1, 2006 population for Carrollton is estimated at 118,711.
Carrollton historically has utilized a round-off number; therefore, our
estimate for public release will be 118,700.
