Trinity Mills Station

The idea for the Trinity Mills Station was to reflect the dualistic themes the area: of birth & rebirth, grains & gravel, development & redevelopment.  This station was also intended to be more colorful and exciting than it's more-restrained Downtown Carrollton sibling.

The first image shows a plan view for the platform area.  Notice the bold use of various colors in the paving (colored concrete, paving stones, etc.).  Also - see the silvery strip winding it's way through the concrete?  This represents the winding Elm Fork of the Trinity River, just a mile or so southwest of the station.

The second image shows the colorful details of this ground-level platform.  The canopy support columns will be cast concrete with images of grasses and grains molded into them.  "Rolled steel" accents will visually tie the station to the nearby President George Bush Turnpike, with it's rust-colored stripes.  Four colored accents at the top of each column will remind us of the four seasons and the eternal cycle of birth, growth, death and rebirth.

The windscreens will have images of grasses and grains applied to them in a "frosted glass" effect, and the protective fencing along the west will seem to ripple in the wind, like grass in a field or pasture.
