Background and Education

A lifetime resident of the Carrollton area, Councilmember Doug Hrbacek attended C-FBISD schools since Kindergarten and graduated from Newman Smith in 1987. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1992.

Public Service 
Councilmember Hrbacek  was elected to the City Council of Carrollton in May 2012, and reelected in May 2015. He is currently the Chair of the Redevelopment Subcommittee and serves on the Transit Oriented Development Subcommittee. He is also a liaison to the Historical Preservation Advisory Committee and the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Board. Prior to his election to the City Council, Councilmember Hrbacek served as Vice-Chair for the City Carrollton's Planning & Zoning Commission. He has also served in the following roles: DART Cotton Belt Area Focus Group, City of Carrollton Charter Review Committee, City of Carrollton Blue Ribbon Committee, Co-Founder of the Downtown Carrollton Neighborhood Summit, Downtown Carrollton Rail Station Master Plan Committee, DART Green Line Station Committees, City of Carrollton Parks and Recreation Board, and the South Central Collegiate Water Ski Conference Board of Directors. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the North Texas Little League.

Professional and Personal 
Councilmember Hrbacek works for a major communications company in transportation automation. He has been married to his wife, Tara, for 11 years and they have a 10 year old son.
