Purchasing is the designated department authorized to dispose of all surplus, seized and confiscated property for the city. The city utilizes the online service of eBay and Rene Bates Auctioneers to dispose of surplus property.  eBay is used for most items including vehicles. Rene Bates & Associates is used for the sale of  heavy equipment or large items.  Each site offers different advantages and has different cost structures.
