Magazines and Newspapers

Over 350 periodical subscriptions, including both current and back issues, are offered as well as many online resources available in full text in the library's databases.

General Reference

A diverse collection that includes such resources as directories, genealogy resources at the Josey Ranch Lake location, encyclopedias, IRS tax forms/publications, and college guides.

Business Reference

A business collection is provided at the Hebron & Josey location which includes publications by Dun & Bradstreet, Morning Star, and Value Line. Electronic resources are also available, both in the library and remotely.

Cassettes, Videos, DVDs and CDs

Abridged and unabridged books on tape and CD, music on cassette and CD and educational and popular movies on video and DVD are provided. 2002-2003 Budget update: Instructional/educational DVDs and videos will continue to be purchased for all ages, as well as entertainment DVDs and videos for children. New purchases of entertainment DVDs and videos for adults has been discontinued indefinitely.

World Language

In August 2003 the Carrollton Public Library restructured its World Language materials, integrating all languages and formats into one collection. World Language items are shelved together in one place arranged alphabetically by the language and format. World Language materials include books, audio and video cassettes, DVDs, CDs and multimedia.

Interlibrary Loan Service

Many items not owned at either library location may be borrowed from libraries across the nation. more info

Online Services

The library currently subscribes to many online databases for personal, professional, and education-related research. Many databases are funded through a partnership with the Texas State Library called the TexShare project. Access is free-of-charge to cardholders and visitors to the library.
