Texshare Card Program

TexShare

TexShare is a cooperative program designed to improve library service to Texans. Members include public libraries that belong to the regional library systems, academic libraries, and libraries of clinical medicine. TexShare focuses on the efficient sharing of library holdings, with an emphasis on access rather than ownership of electronic information resources and traditional collections of books and journals.

At the heart of TexShare is the synergy that occurs when librarians work together to serve customers better.

TexShare Card Program

The Card Program is a reciprocal borrowing program which allows registered users of participating TexShare libraries to obtain a TexShare card and use the card to borrow materials directly from other participating libraries. You must obtain a TexShare card from your home institution before going to other libraries. Special lending policies may apply at lending libraries.

Further information on the Card Program can be found at the Card Program Web site including a list of participating TexShare libraries and their lending policies.

Card Eligibility

Individual libraries set their own eligibility criteria.
