Get to Know Your Neighbors and Reduce Crime in Your Neighborhood

The Carrollton Police Department Crime Prevention Unit actively supports Neighborhood Crime Watch groups within the City of Carrollton. The Crime Prevention Unit can provide your Crime Watch group with planning and organizational support, crime statistics, meeting speakers, and access to Neighborhood Crime Watch signage and materials.

Neighborhood Crime Watch groups are organized and run by citizens, and can encompass areas from one street to one sub-division. The most important aspect of organizing a crime watch group is getting to know your neighbors. We live in a very transient society where neighbors move in and out within a relatively short period of time. Unless citizens make a proactive effort to know their neighbors and watch out for each other, then the vulnerability to crime increases for that area. Crime Watch helps neighborhoods organize and develop relationships that increase security as well as community.
