Security Surveys
Take a Comprehensive Look at Your Home or Business Security The Crime Prevention Unit offers comprehensive assessments of residential and commercial security at no cost to reduce crime in Carrollton. Police officers, certified as Crime Prevention Specialists and trained in the CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), will come to your home or business and assess your security strengths and vulnerabilities. After a detailed assessment, you will receive a report that provides a range of recommendations for enhancing your security. What is CPTED? CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) is a model for reducing crime by altering the environment around a given area. Security elements such as lighting, landscaping, physical barriers (fences, locks and doors) and psychological barriers (areas free of clutter and debris) are each addressed in a CPTED survey. CPTED looks at each property individually and works towards the end goal of achieving the highest resistance to crime with the lowest attractiveness for criminal activity.
Building In Carrollton? The best time to think about reducing crime is to plan for it before you build.
