Industrial Pretreatment Program
The Carrollton Industry Committee embodies the working partnership that the City endeavors to maintain in its service to the community. This Committee was established in 1997 to support the pretreatment efforts of regulated industries in the City. the Committee's original membership included representatives from the regulated industries and Environmental Services Department staff. From its initial orientation meeting, Committee membership has expanded to include several non-regulated industries. Activities have not been limited to pretreatment issues, but have included seminars on other environmental regulations as well. Meetings have varied from half-day pretreatment updates to full day seminars held free of charge. Seminars for the Committee and other interested parties have featured experts from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to discuss topics such as:
These meetings enable industries to air their concerns, difficulties, and questions about issues at hand and get immediate responses from the proper agencies or persons. Meetings also facilitate shared learning among industry associates from their environmental experiences.
The Industrial Pretreatment Program for the City of Carrollton publishes a quarterly newsletter "Industry Committee Highlights" between Industry Committee meetings. This newsletter reports on recent meetings of the Committee, provides updates on current regulatory and enforcement issues, and gives reminders on required reporting deadlines of various environmental agencies. For more information on the "Industry Committee Highlights" or for feature topic requests, please contact the Carrollton Industrial Pretreatment Program Coordinator at (972) 466-3066. |
