Carrollton Ranks Among Top 10 Best Places to Live in Texas
The City of Carrollton was ranked as the 10th Best Place to Live in Texas by financial education website NerdWallet.
In a state overflowing with pride, the question of a “best city” is an area of debate. Looking at a variety of data sources, NerdWallet ranked the 50 largest cities in Texas on quality-of-life indicators to determine the best places to live. The metrics compared crime data, education, housing and demographics, and walkability scores. Carrollton sits high atop the list along with other North Texas cities Allen, Frisco, Plano, and McKinney.
Along with its short commute to nearby Downtown Dallas, an advantage that propelled the City to the top was the Walk Score of 34, the second highest in the top 10.
City of Carrollton Mayor Matthew Marchant commented, “We are proud of our ‘home advantage’, and continued growth is ensured by the planning and sustainability of the surrounding major highways and rail lines. In addition, our City hosts 26 miles of trails, a vibrant downtown, and top notch parks. Carrollton’s excellent location, safety, and neighborhoods make it the best place for residents in North Texas.”
