Carrollton Ranks Low on List of Most Dangerous Texas Cities

Post Date:05/19/2016 6:13 PM
A recent study by Darrow Law Firm provides the latest example of the City of Carrollton maintaining one of the lowest crime rates in cities across the state.

The report, published March 7, aimed to find the most dangerous cities in Texas with populations over 100,000 by reviewing three key elements: crime, police presence, and the community’s socioeconomic factors. Carrollton’s numbers continue to inspire trust in the efforts of the local police force as the City’s overall ranking is 30 out of 34 meaning the city has the fifth lowest overall danger ranking of all the communities reviewed.

“The fact that Carrollton continues to appear toward the bottom of these types of crime rate lists is no coincidence,” Police Chief Rex Redden said. “We maintain high visibility in the community and quick response times when there is an incident. This ensures a strong and reliable message to our residents.”

In a detailed finding, Carrollton comes in at the third lowest spot for homicide, the sixth lowest for robbery, and the very last slot for rape at 4.67 per 100,000 people. Carrollton’s overall crime rate was the third lowest out of the 34 cities.

Odessa was ranked overall most dangerous city and Round Rock was ranked overall least dangerous city.
