Carrollton Announces Everclear to Join Festival Headliner The Toadies

Post Date:06/20/2017 4:19 PM

2017 Approved PhotoNationally known ‘90s rock band Everclear will join headliner The Toadies for Carrollton’s 8th Annual Festival at the Switchyard Saturday, November 4.

The Oregon-based group is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 1997 multiplatinum album So Much for the Afterglow, which features trademark melodies, rhythmic energies, and thundering guitar riffs in songs such as “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You a New Life,” and Grammy nominated track “El Distorto de Melodica.”

“It makes me feel really good when I read a lot of what people still think about the album, and how many bands have been influenced by it—how much impact it had on them—and I think about how much impact it had on me, in a different way of course,” says lead singer-guitarist Art Alexakis. “It’s still a thing; it’s still relevant and real 20 years later.”

Afterglow built upon the momentum of the band’s 1995 album Sparkle and Fade, which is also still prevalent in their success with fan-favorite “Santa Monica.”

The City of Carrollton’s award-winning Festival is held on the streets of Downtown Carrollton, situated off I-35E at Belt Line Road, just steps away from the DART Green Line Downtown Carrollton station. With FREE admission, FREE parking, FREE rides, FREE games, and FREE concerts, the Festival at the Switchyard is a family favorite, known to provide a memorable day full of good tunes, good treats, and good times.

Festival sponsors to date include iHeartRadio, Atmos Energy, Bath Planet and Window Expo, and Sam Pack’s Five-Star Ford Carrollton.
