Carrollton Marketing Projects Bring Home Four National Awards
The City of Carrollton Marketing Services Department recently brought home four awards from the national City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) for its wide-ranging public communication and promotional efforts.
Marketing for the 2016 Festival at the Switchyard featuring headliner Barenaked Ladies took home two first place Savvy awards for the categories of Special Events – Recurring Event as well as Marketing & Tools – Best Use of a Promotional Item. A custom made guitar was wrapped with the Festival’s 2016 poster artwork and raffled off in a social media contest. Two guitars were given away to a couple of lucky BNL fans.
Recognition for the City’s signature event didn’t stop there as the Festival’s promotional video took home a second place Silver Circle award.
Carrollton’s Pet Photo Calendar also earned a Silver Circle award in the Graphic Design – Publications category.
Many City projects require input from various players and departments. Their recognition among dynamic communications professionals on a national stage further solidifies Carrollton’s capabilities and high quality of services to its residents.
“We hope Carrollton citizens are proud to have dedicated individuals working to engage the community and to increase involvement, responsiveness, and investment in our City,” said Marketing Director Kelli Lewis.
Effective public information offices are vital to local governments throughout the nation. Messages, programs, and campaigns link citizens to the essential information they need to access services and remain a part of the democratic process. Maintaining a shared vision for the community and ensuring the transparency of municipal government are demanding and constant requirements for successful public communicators.
