Carrollton Pet Photo Calendars Are Now on Sale
Thanks to the Animal Services Advisory Committee for sponsoring the 2018 Carrollton Pet Photo Calendar. Calendars are now on sale for $10 (including tax) at City facilities (City Hall, Crosby and Rosemeade Recreation Centers, Josey Ranch Lake and Hebron & Josey Libraries, Senior Center, and the Animal Services & Adoption Center.)
The City of Carrollton extends its gratitude to everyone who submitted photos of their pets for entry into the 2018 Carrollton Pet Photo wall calendar.
Photo submissions from residents raised $695 this year and as always, all proceeds go directly to the Carrollton Animal Services & Adoption Center for resources such as food, medicine, cleaning supplies, and treatment of sick or injured animals.
“This contest has become one of the most important things we work on; special services and surgeries are paid for in part by the funding raised during this event,” Animal Services Manager Carl Shooter said. “I want to thank our community for their participation as this support goes a long way in helping the animals in our care.”
The contest ran from March to August and saw nearly 150 photo submissions from local pet lovers. Leah Shaw and her smiley-faced pup Prince, a four-year-old mix of a mutt, won the Grand Prize calendar cover.
“We believe he is part Jack Russell terrier, pit bull Terrier, and beagle, though some have guessed Chihuahua or even Labrador,” Shaw said. “It’s anybody’s guess. Prince is our family dog, but my daughter Allison took the picture.”
The 12 winners whose pets grace the pages of each month of the calendar encourage local animal lovers to show their support for responsible pet ownership. Remember, register your pets, get them spayed or neutered, and always pick up after them!
