Celebrate the Season in Carrollton

Christmas in Carrollton cable slide-01The City of Carrollton has a full lineup of fun this Christmas and invites all residents to come enjoy the sights and sounds of the season. Activities start early with Photos with Santa at the A.W. Perry Museum, dash right along with the Kids’ Fun Run in Downtown, and wrap up with great activities at the Carrollton Public Library including the inaugural Harry Potter-themed Yule Ball.

Photo opportunities abound and the fun won’t stop until the kiddos head back to the classroom in January. See the complete list below.

Photos with Santa – Start the season off right by taking a few snaps with Santa on Saturday, November 18 from 10 a.m. - noon at the A.W. Perry Museum (1509 N. Perry Road). These family memories are guaranteed to last the whole year. Photos are taken by a professional photographer. The $20 fee is per family (up to four people) and includes one digital photo. There also will be hands-on activities, crafts, and refreshments. Register at by Friday, November 17.

An Old-Fashioned Christmas – A timeless tradition in Carrollton, this popular, free celebration sees everything from Victorian carolers, Santa Claus, tours of the historic 1909 Perry home, and ornament craft making. Bring the family out for a fun night to welcome the season on Friday, December 1 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the A.W. Perry Museum (1509 N. Perry Road).

Santa on the Square & Kids’ Santa Dash – Grab your stockings and your Santa hats for a fun and festive race that will have the little ones running with glee as they chase Santa around the Square on Saturday, December 2. Register for the Santa Dash by Thursday, November 30 to receive the $12 rate; the price goes up to $15 on race day. Register online at The race is open to participants ages 12 and under. Stick around for our FREE event which includes a free 4x6" photo with Santa inside the Gazebo. Take your own picture at one of our many photo ops including a live reindeer, a 16' decorated tree, and the inside of a giant 15' snow globe. Pre-registration is not required for photo ops.

Carrollton Snow Globe – Didn’t get a chance to enjoy the 15’ holiday snow globe at Santa on the Square? No worries, the globe will be up on Saturday, December 9 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway) for those who want a creative backdrop for their holiday photos. There is no cost to take photos inside the snow globe. Weather permitting.

Brookhaven Bell Choir – Everyone's favorite ringers return to Josey Ranch Lake Library (1700 Keller Springs Road) on Saturday, December 9 at 3:30 p.m. Enjoy a concert of holiday favorites, old and new, presented by the Brookhaven College Handbell Choir, under the direction of Bonnie Riddle. Doors open at 3 p.m.

Winter Wonderland – Got some little ones who aren't in school yet? Stop by the Hebron & Josey Library (4220 N. Josey Lane) on Wednesday, December 13 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. to read stories with Mrs. Claus and meet Santa!

Carrollton Wind Symphony Holiday Concert – The Carrollton Wind Symphony will present a holiday concert on Friday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m. The free concert will be held at Creekview High School (3201 Old Denton Road). Come make the season merry. The Carrollton Wind Symphony is an all-volunteer community concert band directed by Artistic Director Jim McDaniel and Associate Director Jim Moen. Twelve Days of Winter Break – The kids will need activities to keep them busy during the winter break, so bring them to the Carrollton Public Library. Stop by either the Josey Ranch Lake location (1700 Keller Springs Road) or the Hebron & Josey location (4220 N. Josey Lane) to pick up a schedule of events that highlights the winter holidays and traditions. Different activities will be featured every day from Tuesday, December 26 through Sunday, January 7.

Yule Ball – Attention Harry Potter fans of all ages! Join us for our very own Yule Ball inspired by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Friday, December 29 at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the festive Yule Ball, complete with dancing and music, there will be Harry Potter-themed crafts, games, and a photobooth. Dressing up is highly encouraged. Come out to this inaugural event at Josey Ranch Lake Library (1700 Keller Springs Road).
