“We insist on integrity and the highest ethical standard from our candidates,” said incoming Carrollton Police Chief Derick Miller. “These individuals should value service to the community and possess the ability to persevere through difficult challenges. Carrollton is a well-respected police force, and we work relentlessly to maintain the qualities that drive this department.”
The department provides extensive, paid trainings, state-of-the-art equipment designed to protect and serve the community, generous compensation (starting salary is $60,229), and numerous resources for its officers.
The upcoming exam will be administered on Thursday, November 30 at the Carrollton Police Station (2025 Jackson Road). Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. and will close by 8 a.m. Attendees will need to bring their driver license, notarized waiver of liability, and their DD Form 214, if applicable. Applicants will run the physical agility course later in the hiring process.
In 2016, Carrollton was ranked one of the least dangerous Texas cities with a population of 100,000 or more by Houston-based Darrow Law Firm. High police visibility in the community and quick response times have contributed to Carrollton’s consistently low crime rates.
