Carrollton Fire Rescue and Partner Agencies Receive 2017 Lone Star Achievement Award
To better address the needs of their communities in challenging times, Carrollton Fire Rescue, and the Addison, Coppell, and Farmers Branch Fire Departments have joined forces and implemented several regional programs to improve the overall service delivery to all of their jurisdictions.
The Texas Fire Chiefs Association on Monday, February 26 jointly awarded the four departments the 2017 Lone Star Achievement Award for their initiatives. The award is given for implementing an innovative and progressive program that enhances a community’s fire and life safety services delivery.
The four departments share the award for their regional work which established a joint fire training facility, a consolidated dispatch center, and a combined digital radio system to support 16 fire stations and cover a population of approximately 250,000. These programs have been developed over the past several years and are now realizing full potential in service to the collective communities.
