Carrollton Holds Spring Family Campout at R.E. Good Soccer Complex
Join us for a night beneath the stars at the Spring Family Campout at R.E. Good Soccer Complex (2335 Sandy Lake Road). Campgrounds open at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.
Campers are encouraged to set up camp quickly so everyone can enjoy the fun and games. Activities include corn hole, ladder golf, and a rock painting activity. Bikes, scooters, skates (non-motorized only), and dogs on a leash are welcome. Dinner will be provided, as well as a bonfire and a screening of Hook (1991), PG at sunset. Find out if the adult Peter Pan can regain his forgotten power to fly and rescue his kidnapped children from Captain Hook.
“This event is such a great opportunity to experience the outdoors without having to leave the city,” said Kim Bybee, Carrollton Athletics Manager. “Families are able to enjoy the campout experience with a nature hike, s’mores by the fire, sleeping in a tent under the stars, the added comfort of a provided meal, restrooms, and a great movie for the whole family.”
Breakfast will be provided in the morning as everyone breaks camp. Campsites must be clear by 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Participants must bring their own camping equipment. Registration is required. Onsite registration is available from 5 p.m. until dark. The cost is $7 per camper or $5 per person for Saturday only (dinner and movie).
This family event has been a big hit in the past, so the Carrollton Parks & Recreation Department has provided an opportunity for the camping fun to continue! For more information, call Carrollton Athletics at 972-466-9833 or visit cityofcarrollton.com/athletics.
