Area First Responders Participate in Multi-Agency Mass-Casualty Training Exercise
Public safety officials from the Town of Addison and Cities of Carrollton, Coppell, and Farmers Branch will conduct full-scale exercises on March 20, 21, and 22 to validate response processes in a variety of mass-casualty events.
The exercises will simulate three separate events including a transportation accident, an active shooter, and a motor vehicle driven into a crowd. These scenarios will allow responders to test agency capability in stabilizing incidents and caring for the injured at any events that exceed the normal capacity of a single department or jurisdiction.
The trainings will involve more than 28 local organizations including representation from fire, police, EMS, hospitals, schools, transportation authorities, and community volunteers. The exercises will be conducted on three consecutive days to allow all three shifts of the fire departments to participate.
