Carrollton Public Library and Metrocrest Services Partner to Host Community Job Fair

Metrocrest Community Job FairLooking for a job? Polish your resume, dress for success, and come out to Josey Ranch Lake Library (1700 Keller Springs Road) on Monday, May 7 for the inaugural Metrocrest Community Job Fair hosted jointly by the Carrollton Public Library and Metrocrest Services in partnership with the City of Carrollton, the Town of Addison, and the City of Farmers Branch. 

An exclusive, face-to-face pre-fair event will be held from 12-1 p.m. for the first 20 registrants, and the Open Job Fair will be held from 1:30-4 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet employers, apply for jobs, and in some cases, even interview onsite. 

Participating employers include the City of Carrollton, the Town of Addison, Aramark at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Carrollton, Brookhaven Country Club, Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District, Carrollton Springs Hospital, Comfort Keepers, the City of Coppell, Dallas Medical Center, Denton State Supported Living Center, E Line Orthodontics, Elliott Electric Supply, Manpower, Mary Kay, Mobility Credit Union, MONI Smart Security, North Texas Emergency Communications Center, Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West, Onin Staffing, Parks Coffee, PPG Industries, Thomson Reuters, TreeHouse Private Brands, and Waste Management. 

The City of Carrollton and Metrocrest Services hope to Expand the Vision of community resources available to citizens by bringing together employee and employer, and by doing so, strengthen the community from within to make the Metrocrest area a place where people can live, work, and play. Expand the Vision is the theme of this year’s job fair. 

“Both the Carrollton Public Library and Metrocrest Services are committed to providing workforce development resources for citizens to help them set and achieve personal, professional, and financial goals,” said Rachel Young, Josey Ranch Lake Library Branch Manager. “We hope citizens seeking employment will take advantage of this great opportunity to meet employers face to face and make lasting professional connections.”

Clarice Mastin, Metrocrest Services Workforce Development Specialist, said events such as the Metrocrest Community Job Fair play an essential role in the organization’s efforts to provide opportunities and community resources that foster independence and self-sufficiency. 

“This community collaboration is a perfect example of what building a stronger community looks like in action,” Mastin said.
