 Counterfeit Radio

Seven-piece cover band Counterfeit Radio and high energy Dallas alternative rock band Redline will kick off the 9th Annual Festival at the Switchyard on Saturday, November 3 in Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street).

Counterfeit Radio will open the event with a mix of dance, R&B, pop, and rock hits from the ‘70s to now that are sure to have Festival goers dancing and singing along. The group has been playing at venues and events across the DFW Metroplex for more than 10 years and appeals to all ages with a range of music spanning five decades.

Next up, Redline will bring their new alternative and indie infused sound to the stage with funky undertones for a dynamic performance. The 4-piece band’s original works take major influence from artists like Cage the Elephant, U2, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Black Keys.

Previously announced bands Straight Tequila Night, Jelly Ellington, Texas Flood, and Downtown Fever will also warm up the crowd for openers Vertical Horizon and Tonic and headliner Stone Temple Pilots. A full Festival entertainment schedule, including children’s entertainment and the entire main stage and in front of stage lineup, will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition to free concerts, the Festival at the Switchyard also offers free live entertainment, free rides and games, free activities for children of all ages, and a variety of food vendors and Festival booths to shop from. The event is held every fall on the streets of Downtown Carrollton, just off IH-35E and Belt Line Road, steps away from the Downtown Carrollton Station on the DART Green Line. Festival goers are highly encouraged to park at the North Carrollton/Frankford Station or Trinity Mills Station and ride the DART to the Festival site, as parking is extremely limited.

Festival sponsors to date include 97.1 The Eagle, Atmos Energy, Bath Expo and Window Expo, Dallas Observer, DART, DFW Child Magazine, Frost Bank, Honest-1 Auto Care of Carrollton, Keller Williams Central, LEI Home Enhancements, Olympus on Main, Parks Coffee, Sam Pack’s Five Star Chevrolet and Ford, Suburban Parent Magazine, Switchyard Apartments, Waste Management, and Western Extrusions.
