Carrollton Public Library Hosts Metrocrest Community Networking Opportunity
Looking for a job, or wanting to change jobs? The Carrollton Public Library is hosting a free Metrocrest Community Networking opportunity at Josey Ranch Lake Library (1700 Keller Springs Road) on Tuesday, October 9 from 2-4 p.m. Registration is free, but limited to the first 60 job-seekers. Professional attire is requested.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet in a small group setting with employers/hiring managers from each company who will present information about their organization, go over applicant do’s and don’ts, and answer questions. After 10 minutes, each group will switch and listen to another company’s representative until each small group has met with every company.
The remainder of the time will be used for open conversation between employers and attendees. Refreshments will be available. Bring your resume or print a copy at the Library.
Participating employers include Allstate Insurance, Aramark at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Carrollton, Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford Carrollton, Western Extrusions, and Yoozy.
The City of Carrollton and Metrocrest Services hope to expand the vision of community resources available to citizens by bringing together employee and employer, and by doing so, strengthen the community from within to make the Metrocrest area a place where people can live, work, and play. Networking with a Purpose is the theme of this year’s event.
“Both the Carrollton Public Library and Metrocrest Services are committed to providing workforce development resources for citizens to help them set and achieve personal, professional, and financial goals,” said Rachel Young, Josey Ranch Lake Library Branch Manager. “We hope citizens seeking employment will take advantage of this great opportunity to meet employers face to face and make lasting professional connections.”
