Carrollton is gearing up for its 9th Annual Festival at the Switchyard this Saturday, November 3 in Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street) from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition to free concerts featuring nationally known headliner Stone Temple Pilots and openers Tonic and Vertical Horizon, the free Festival offers live children’s entertainment inside the Plaza Arts Center, rides and games, vendor booths, and a variety of great food, beer, and wine.

The 2018 Festival promises to be another fun-filled event with day-long concerts featuring Counterfeit Radio, Redline, Straight Tequila Night, Jelly Ellington, Texas Flood (Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute), Downtown Fever, Vertical Horizon, Tonic, and Stone Temple Pilots. There will also be performances from local acts such as the Creekview High School Chevals, R. L. Turner Drumline, Motion, The Studio, Sidekicks Karate, and Mary Immaculate School Highsteppers Drill Team. The event is rain or shine. Visit the Entertainment page at for the full lineup and set times.

The event also offers an array of free activities for the kids. Inside the Plaza Arts Center, enjoy performances by stunt juggler Matt Tardy, hula hoop artist Corean Gonzales, Creekview High School Theatre, magician Landon Stark, and daredevil illusionist Christopher Lyle. Free face painting, balloon twisting, spin art, caricature drawings from DFWChild Magazine, arts and crafts, and rides and games, including bungee trampolines, a giant fun slide, a zip line, and a video game truck, will also be available.

Parking is extremely limited, so Festival attendees are encouraged to park at DART stations and ride the Green Line to the Downtown Carrollton Station (regular charges apply; visit for more details). A large crowd is expected, so NO chairs, pets, or coolers will be allowed on the Festival grounds. This is a non-smoking event (e-cigarettes are also prohibited).
