NTTA to Temporarily Establish Two-Way Traffic on PGBT Bridge at Scott Mill Road

Post Date:07/12/2019 8:26 AM

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: PGBT Bridge at Scott Mill Road

The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) has advised the City of Carrollton of the following road construction and repair activities:

President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) Bridges Repair Update

Rehabilitation repairs to the Scott Mill Road and Kelly Boulevard Bridges over President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) are proceeding as scheduled.  As the project continues, there will be a phased traffic switch on Scott Mill Bridge on Monday, July 15. During this traffic switch, two way traffic will be temporarily reestablished on the west half of the Scott Mill Bridge in temporary travel lanes.

A temporary traffic signal will also be installed to help in directing traffic and will remain operational until the end of summer when the remaining work is complete and the existing traffic signal can return to service.

Sam Rayburn Tollway Bridge Repair at Southbound Hebron Parkway

The Sam Rayburn Tollway Bridge over southbound Hebron Parkway was damaged recently and needs to be repaired by NTTA for public safety. The repairs will require the closure of three right southbound lanes under the SRT bridge. These closures have been tentatively scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday, July 22 through Monday, July 29 and will run daily as needed until the repairs are completed.

General NTTA Construction and Repairs Notice

All closures, construction, and repairs are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area.

The NTTA appreciates the public’s patience during the ongoing improvements work.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: NTTA Closed Westbound Trinity Mills Frontage Road and Two Westbound PGBT Lanes
Posted 6/17/2019    3:05 p.m.

NTTA TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Between Kelly Boulevard and Scott Mill Road, the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) currently has the westbound Trinity Mills frontage road of President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) completely closed and two of the west main lanes of PGBT closed due to an issue they have with one of their pieces of construction equipment leaning.

NTTA hopes to have the main lanes open by the afternoon/evening peak rush hour and the frontage road open sometime this evening. As this is an unanticipated issue NTTA does not know exactly when the roadways will be re-opened. In the meantime, AVOID THE AREA and seek alternative routes.

Beginning Saturday, June 1 and continuing until mid-August, both the Scott Mill Road and Kelly Boulevard bridges over President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) in Carrollton will be partially closed. These 24-hour-a-day partial closures are needed so that NTTA construction crews may do some rehabilitation work at each end of the bridges.

On the Scott Mill Road bridge all southbound lanes will be closed. One northbound lane of Scott Mill Road bridge will remain open.

Northbound traffic on the Kelly Boulevard bridge over PGBT will change from four to two northbound lanes. Southbound drivers will use the other one lane in order to continue to their destination.

The traffic pattern at both locations will change in mid-July when traffic is switched to other lanes.
