Carrollton to Host World of Foodies Fest on the Downtown Square
Join the City of Carrollton for a tasty adventure in Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street) on Saturday, June 29 from 3-9 p.m. Enjoy authentic international refreshments, take time for an “Around the World” photo op, hold out a hand for a free henna design, and play some games on the Square.
Bring an appetite and listen to music, celebrate multiple nationalities, and chow down on a world of culture and cuisine at this inaugural “foodie” festival. The entertainment starts at 3:30 p.m. with Latin beats played by Los Mariachi Locos; at 5 p.m. the music turns Caribbean with a live performance by Watusi Trio; at 6:30 p.m., Bollywood Dancers will perform; and at 8 p.m. African Drummers will end the evening. Times are subject to change.
Vendors will provide food with an international or culturally-based theme including pollo tinga tacos, brisket tacos and churros, cheesy potato pierogi, haluski (cabbage, noodles, & bacon), Hawaiian honey cones, New Orleans style snowballs, fried rice, Spam musubis, the Hawaiian duo of pineapple fried rice and mac salad, fried crab balls, a jasmine green tea lychee drink, and much more.
The event is free to attend. Sample-sized food bites will be available for $3, in addition to full-size portions at varying prices. For the ultimate experience, purchase a “Foodie Passport” for ages 21+ before the event for $30 while supplies last. Passports include two cocktail samples, five food samples, and a souvenir World of Foodies glass.
Beat the heat and have some fun in Carrollton with a variety of drinks including BuzzBallz, El Rincon house margaritas the "Downtown Fresh" and the "Canadian Spring", Cruzan Rum Distillery frozen piña coladas, beer & wine.
