Free Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing Site Opens in Carrollton

4/30/20: The City of Carrollton, Walmart, and healthcare technology company eTrueNorth have partnered to open free drive-through COVID-19 testing beginning Friday, May 1 in the parking lot of the WMS Distribution Center (1025 W. Trinity Mills Road).

Testing will take place Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, to screen those who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 as well as all health care providers and first responders. To determine eligibility and to schedule an appointment, individuals must sign up at DoINeedaCOVID19test.com.

Those being tested will need to stay in their vehicles for verification of eligibility criteria, ID check, and the self-administered test. For the safety of everyone on site, this testing location is not available to walk up appointments.

The site will provide a self-administered nasal swab test so that individuals can remain inside their vehicles and be observed by trained medical personnel to ensure the sample is taken correctly. The sample is then sealed and dropped into a container on the way out of the drive-through site.

eTrueNorth will handle processing test samples and communicating results to those who tested and any applicable Departments of Health. The site will be staffed by volunteers, including Walmart health care professionals, and eTrueNorth team members.

While individuals await their test results, it is strongly recommended to follow Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and take steps to help prevent the virus from spreading to others in the home or community.

Of note, the site is not the local Walmart Supercenter store located north of the President George Bush Turnpike and testing is not available inside any Walmart store.

For any questions regarding testing, call 800-635-8611.
