Tribute Band Matchbook 20 and Monica’s Bidi Bidi Tribute to Warm Up Crowd at 10th Annual Festival at the Switchyard

Matchbook 20 & Monica's Bidi Bidi Tribute-01Matchbox Twenty tribute band, Matchbook 20, and Monica’s Bidi Bidi, a tribute to the Tejano Queen, will ready the audience for the Old 97’s and Tripping Daisy at the City of Carrollton’s free 10th annual Festival at the Switchyard on Saturday, November 2 in Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street). 

Five-piece rock band Matchbook 20 is sure to have attendees singing along to Matchbox Twenty favorites such as “Unwell,” “Push,” and “3AM.” The Dallas-based tribute band plays a variety of Matchbox Twenty hits including classics from debut album Yourself or Someone Like You (1996) and songs from the band’s newest album, North (2012).

Before Matchbook 20 takes the stage, Monica’s Bidi Bidi Tribute will honor La Reina de Tejano with a high-energy performance of songs like “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” “Como la Flor,” and “I Could Fall in Love.” 

Previously announced country-soul, swamp-funk band Shinyribs and high-energy cover band Emerald City Band will also warm up the crowd. A full Festival entertainment schedule, including children’s entertainment, the entire main stage, and in front of stage lineup, will be announced in the coming weeks.   

In addition to free concerts, the award-winning Festival at the Switchyard features free live children’s entertainment, free rides and games, free face painting and balloon art, a beer garden, and an array of food vendors and Festival booths to shop from. The event is held on the streets of Downtown Carrollton, just off IH-35E and Belt Line Road, steps away from the Downtown Carrollton Station on the DART Green Line. Festivalgoers are highly encouraged to park at the North Carrollton/Frankford Station or Trinity Mills Station and ride the DART to the Festival site, as parking is extremely limited.
