To promote safe driving this holiday season, the Carrollton Police Department has partnered with the Dallas County Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) Taskforce and American Automobile Association (AAA Texas) as part of the #WhatAlcoholSays campaign.
The campaign includes a static display of a crashed car with an anti-DWI message at the southwest corner of N. Josey Lane and E. Belt Line Road. The car will be on display through the week of Monday, January 4, 2021.
The message “I can drive, I just had a few beers,” in both English and Spanish, accompanies the crashed car and represents just one of the many ways drivers who have been drinking try to justify getting behind the wheel.
The Carrollton Police Department aggressively enforces DWI laws year-round and even further steps up that enforcement during the holiday season. In addition, the Carrollton Police Department is a “no refusal” City year-round, obtaining blood evidence on all DWI arrests either by consent or warrant.
