City Recruiting for Public Service Positions at Top-Tier Organization

Post Date:12/08/2020 4:18 PM

The City of Carrollton is actively seeking individuals to join its diverse, fast-paced, award-winning organization that values and appreciates all employees.

A career in public service across several departments awaits those who are interested in maintaining City Council’s vision for Carrollton to be the community that families and businesses want to call home. More than 850 dedicated individuals contribute to the City’s ability to run smoothly while providing valuable services and programs to residents, businesses, and visitors.

“Carrollton is a great place to work,” Samantha Dean, Workforce Services Director, said. “We are driven by growth and innovations. I’ve never felt more valued, supported, and challenged by an employer as with my time in Carrollton.”

City of Carrollton employees enjoy competitive pay and a wide range of benefits that include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan with a City 2:1 contribution. Other perks include flexible work schedules, an opportunity for a business casual dress code, and paid time off. The full benefits package can be viewed by visiting https://www.cityofcarrollton.com/departments/departments-q-z/workforce-services/benefits.

Carrollton puts the well-being of its employees at the forefront; therefore, staff and their family members on the City’s insurance plan have access to the free Employee Health and Wellness Center. Along with prioritizing health, Carrollton has worked to ensure employees’ safety during the COVID-19 pandemic by allowing temporary work from home options. In addition to telecommuting, City management placed a heavy emphasis on employee safety from the onset of the pandemic by providing valuable PPE, sanitizing stations, and other on-site infrastructure modifications.

“I believe what has made the City so successful in navigating COVID is our acceptance that flexibility is critical,” Dean said. “We have to be ready to change course depending on the issue or situation of the day, and I believe Carrollton excels at adapting.”

The pandemic has brought on many challenges, according to Dean, and employees have responded with flexibility and a focus on maintaining high levels of service for all residents, motorists, businesses, and visitors.

Various departments are currently hiring, including positions in Parks Maintenance, Police, and Public Works. A full list of current openings can be found by visiting cityofcarrollton.com/jobs.
