Post Date:02/10/2021 5:09 PM

Break out your best western wear and get ready to have a good time at TEXFest, a free celebration of Texas Independence Day, featuring craft beer, good food, and local artists performing Texas music. Texfest 2021

The sixth annual event takes place Saturday, March 6 from 3-9 p.m. in Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street).

This year’s event will look different as the public’s health and safety continues to be the City’s highest priority. TEXFest will be broken into four sessions, with each session allowing a maximum capacity of 100 attendees. The schedule for TEXFest includes:

  • Session One: 3-4:15pm
  • Session Two: 4:30-5:45pm
  • Session Three: 6-7:15pm
  • Session Four: 7:30-9pm

While TEXFest entry is free, walk-up attendance will be on a first-come, first-served basis until the maximum capacity of 100 attendees per session has been reached. Each attendee must have a ticket, which can be purchased by visiting The only way to guarantee entry into a session is to pre-purchase a $6 ticket for admission that also includes a commemorative souvenir beer glass.

With TEXFest downsizing in 2021, there will be one music group per session so every session attendee can enjoy their own headlining entertainment:

  • Session One: Dallas-Fort Worth-based classic rock band Ashmore will kick off the event.
  • Session Two: Big Jangle
  • Session Three: Fort Worth-based indie rock duo Danni and Kris
  • Session Four: Dallas-based artist Ryan Berg will end the event with his mix of blues, jazz, folk, and country styles.

There will be a variety of food vendors on site and craft beer from several local breweries, including 3 Nations Brewing, Bishop Cider, Lakewood Brewing, Rahr & Sons Brewing, Revolver Brewing, and TUPPS Brewing. Attendees who receive walk-up admittance will be able to purchase the commemorative TEXFest beer glasses, so everyone of age can enjoy responsibly and in style within the event’s beer garden.

COVID-19 health protocols such as sanitizing seating areas between sessions will be in place to ensure the safety of guests and staff. As a result of the safety measures, there will not be a mechanical bull at this year’s event. However, guests will have a chance to take old western-themed photos and pose with a live longhorn. These photo ops will be sanitized between participants.
