Play Safe and Have Fun at Carrollton's Dog Parks
The City of Carrollton welcomes residents to both Rosemeade and McInnish Dog Parks for some outdoor doggy playtime. The Carrollton Parks & Recreation Department as well as Carrollton Animal Services remind dog park visitors to keep the rules and regulations in mind for a safe and enjoyable experience for every waggy wiggler who enters.
While the rules are posted at each location, a constant reminder for every dog owner or caretaker is to always Doo the Right Thing and pick up an animal’s waste while on a walk or at the dog parks. Pet waste contains harmful bacteria and parasites that can make people and pets sick. When left on the ground it can be taken by rain into storm drains, contaminating rivers, lakes, and drinking water sources.
Check out both parks now that the weather is so enjoyable. Rosemeade Dog Park (1330 E. Rosemeade Parkway) opened in July 2015 with 45,000 square feet and offers both a small and large dog area. McInnish Dog Park (1845 Legends Trail) opened shortly after in October 2016 and features four grassy acres divided into three sections with picnic tables, shaded areas, and wash stations. The park is located behind the Carrollton Animal Services & Adoption Center (2247 Sandy Lake Road), so if you don’t have a dog yet, your new best friend is waiting for you!
Hours of operation for both parks are from sunrise to 10 p.m. Rosemeade Dog Park is closed Thursday mornings from 7-10 a.m. for maintenance. McInnish Dog Park is closed Friday mornings from 7-10 a.m. for maintenance.
The City of Carrollton Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to close the facility for maintenance and repairs. Contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 972-466-3080 with comments or concerns about the parks.
Human visitors are asked to practice social distancing. Remember, follow the rules for a furry fun time. These updated spaces are intended to provide a safe environment for canine exercise. For more information, visit cityofcarrollton.com/dogpark.
