Carrollton Swears in Two City Councilmembers for Consecutive Terms
Two of the four Carrollton City Council seats from the May 2021 General Election ballot were sworn in during the Tuesday, May 11 meeting at City Hall.
Current Mayor Pro Tem Steve Babick was sworn in for a second term to Place 1 with more than 67 percent of the vote, and current Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Pat Cochran, running unopposed, was sworn in for a second term to Place 3. The two remaining Council seats will be decided in a runoff election held on Saturday, June 5
Candidates Nancy Cline and Annette W. Reese are running for Place 5, currently occupied by Councilmember Glen Blanscet, who has served since May 2015.
Place 7 candidates H.A. “Rusty” Pendleton and D. Michelle Ocker are running for the seat held by Councilmember John Sutter, who has also served since May 2015.
Both Blanscet and Sutter have reached the end of their terms in office, each having served two consecutive three-year terms. Both will continue to serve until the results of the June runoff election have been canvassed.
