Christmas Begins in Carrollton

Post Date:11/18/2021 10:22 AM

Christmas-in-Carrollton-imageThe City of Carrollton has a full lineup of holiday happenings for all residents to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.

The festive fun begins early at the A.W. Perry Homestead Museum, but travels to Downtown Carrollton for Santa and his friends on the Square. It picks up again with gift wrapping and holiday tunes, and then heads over for 12 days of learning, listening, and laughing at the Library.

Photo opportunities abound and the fun won’t stop until the kiddos head back to the classroom in January. Kids, remember to send those letters to the North Pole. Santa has already placed a mailbox in Downtown Carrollton through Monday, December 6.

Christmas at the Perry Start the season off right. Stop by the A.W. Perry Homestead Museum (1509 N. Perry Road) on Thursday, December 2, 9, and 16 from 5:30-8 p.m. and see how Carrollton is helping Santa get ready for his big night.

Stroll through beautiful Pearl Perry Gravley Park to see the lights, photo opportunities, and decorations inside Christmas huts throughout the park. Decorations will be on display beginning Thursday, December 2 through Friday, December 31. Preregistration is required to self-tour the Perry Homestead, decked out in 1900s Christmas décor at cityofcarrollton.com/signupnow.

Santa on the Square – Santa will be out late this year to help light up the Square at a new time from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 in Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway), and he’s bringing along a few elves, toy soldiers, and one of his prize reindeer.

Come for the tree lighting at 6 p.m. and don’t miss the special 50-drone light show at 6:15 p.m., presented by Sky Elements Drone Shows skyelementsdrones.com. There will be a photobooth for pictures with Santa in the Gazebo on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as other family photo op areas. Snap a photo with a live reindeer, enjoy the 16-foot decorated tree, and have a friend photograph the family inside the giant 15-foot inflatable snow globe. Take in the lights, visit the face painting booth, and purchase some homemade fudge from one of the vendors. Young crafters can make do-it-yourself ornaments, paper Christmas trees, and mini snowmen.
