Carrollton Hosts Ninth Annual Paws on the Square Event
Post Date:  03/31/2025 12:15 PM

PAWS-OTS-imageNo2Bring the whole family, both furry and otherwise, to Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street) on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to noon, for a tail-wagging good time at the City’s ninth annual Paws on the Square. This free, animal-friendly extravaganza brings people, pets, animal welfare organizations, and pet-friendly companies together for attendees to play, shop, and learn all in one convenient location.

Visit one of Downtown Carrollton’s many delicious restaurants and browse the pet-focused vendor booths to find everything from pet accessories and treats to helpful info. Create lasting memories with free caricatures as well as professional pet photos.

This event also includes free City registration with proof of rabies vaccination for Carrollton residents. Pet registrations are helpful in reuniting lost pets with their owners and are also required by City ordinances. Operation Kindness will provide low-cost vaccinations and microchipping from 9-11 a.m.

Stop by the Carrollton Animal Services (CAS) booth to learn about programs, volunteering opportunities, and adoptions. CAS will also be accepting both monetary and material donations during the event.

“There aren’t very many events that focus on the special relationship between pets and their human companions the way Paws on the Square does,” Carrollton Animal Services Manager Travis Caperton said. “Those looking to create lasting memories with their pets should definitely come out,”.

All dogs must have ID tags, always be on a leash, have a current rabies vaccination (or are about to receive one), and be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. Attendees will receive a dog-related promotional item while supplies last.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this event, which has drawn hundreds of animal lovers to Historic Downtown Carrollton over the past eight years.
