The City of Carrollton recognized 11 local companies for their commitment to environmental principles and efforts in creating and maintaining a sustainable community at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 2.
Mayor Steve Babick introduced the Environmental Leadership Recognition while Mayor Pro Tem Christopher Axberg touched on a brief history of each company, and both presented the 2025 awards to the 11 Carrollton companies that have consistently complied with industrial pretreatment and stormwater regulations for a full year. Together, these companies have been honored by the City of Carrollton with this annual award more than 100 times for their consistent leadership and commitment to excellence and the environment.
Century Products; Electro Plate Circuitry – Capital Drive and Century Drive; Illes Foods; Image Industries; International Paper Company – Belt Line Road; Quality Powder Coating; Quantum Global Technologies, LLC.; Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products; Swiss-American CDMO; Texas Finishing Company; and Wash Solutions were granted leadership recognition at the meeting.
Previously known as the Consistently Compliant Award, the City renamed it the Environmental Leadership Recognition to reflect the exemplary partnership between these industries and the City of Carrollton. Each company receiving the recognition has displayed innovation and diligence in fulfilling industrial requirements to ensure the safety of Carrollton’s air, water, and other natural resources.
A panel of environmental quality managers in the City along with a representative from the City Council reviews these companies each year to determine which are meeting and exceeding requirements to display environmental excellence. From the 11 companies given the Environmental Leadership Recognition in 2025, five were selected to additionally receive Carrollton’s Environmental Distinction Award.
The award is given to organizations that display leadership in creating a sustainable future in their facilities and in the community through commitment to compliance, demonstration of enhanced pollution prevention practices, and display of environmental stewardship through recycling efforts, resource reductions, and more. Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products wins for the sixth time in the award’s history. Century Products, Inc. receives recognition for the third time while Electro Plate Circuitry and Image Industries have each been awarded once before. Swiss-American CDMO is a first-time recipient.
Century Products, Inc. has manufactured cleaning products in Carrollton since 1995 and has made considerable improvements in facilities to reduce energy consumption and wastewater generation. The company partnered with Ecolab this year to create initiatives surrounding operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Technology upgrades additionally reduced hazardous waste and automatic cleaning lowered the company’s overall water use.
From a 40,000-square-foot facility in Carrollton, Electro Plate Circuitry manufactures printed circuit boards for military and aerospace industries. In 2025, the company made better use of recycled scrap metals, including a 13 percent increase in recycled copper captured from wastewater.Electro Plate Circuitry also participates in the City’s Adopt-A-Spot program, where they conduct a litter clean-up at a designated location in Carrollton every quarter.
Image Industries provides industrial coatings and silk-screening services to Original Equipment Manufacturers and subcontractorsin the medical and technology industries, working primarily with local Carrollton businesses. The company replaced 20 A/C units this year as well as the facility’s roofing insulation for improved energy efficiency. Image Industries also recycles all metal, paper, and cardboard.
Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products has made frozen bakery products for foodservice, retail, and in-store bakeries since 2002 in Carrollton. The amount of cardboard recycling increased by more than 400 percent for the company while natural gas usage and emissions decreased. Ralcorp shows environmental leadership through these efforts as well as through involvement in the local community by regularly contributing to the Carrollton food bank.
Swiss-American CDMO manufactures products for the skin care industry and has been in Carrollton for more than 20 years, building a 132,000-square-foot facility in 2020 to expand within the community. In 2025, the company installed motion sensor LED lighting to improve energy efficiency and reduced both water and chemical consumption. The facility’s total tons of recycling also increased by more than 54 percent compared to the previous year.
With a commitment to achieve environmental excellence and to improve the quality and vitality of the community, each company is commended for its leadership in creating a sustainable future.
