Carrollton Mayor Steve Babick will present the State of the City address at the 18th annual Citizens’ Evening on Wednesday, February 25.
The free event will take place at the Carrollton Senior Center (1720 Keller Springs Road) in the Texas Ballroom. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Attendees will have an opportunity to mingle with City officials and meet members of the Neighborhood Advisory Commission. Citizens can learn about Carrollton’s services at informational booths hosted by City departments and engage with social service agencies that support the community.
The State of the City address will be presented by the Mayor and focus on new developments, programs, and events within the community. The City of Carrollton is “Where Connections Happen,” and the organization works hard to connect residents with timely and valuable information about everything occurring within City limits.
“City Council’s vision is for Carrollton to be the community that families and businesses want to call home,” Babick said. “It takes responsive leadership, hard-working staff, and an engaged citizenry to realize that vision. I invite all residents to join us as I share some of the exciting new developments happening in Carrollton as well as providing a progress report on the important work accomplished over the last year.”
The event agenda also includes the presentation of the Carrollton Volunteer Awards, including the Volunteer of the Year, Youth Volunteer of the Year, Neighborhood Leadership, and Outstanding Community Organization Awards, facilitated by the City’s Neighborhood Partnership Office. These awards recognize individuals, organizations, and leaders who went above and beyond to deliver exceptional community service to the City of Carrollton and residents in 2025.
“Carrollton is grateful for the leadership and hours of service volunteers across the community have provided,” Community Services Manager Brian Passwaters said. “Members of the Neighborhood Partnership Office and the Neighborhood Advisory Commission, who sponsor the event, are excited to recognize volunteers who have contributed their time, ideas, and efforts in making our community such a great place.”
